History of the PORR Group

PORR AG was founded in Vienna in 1869 as the "Allgemeine Österreichische Baugesellschaft" in the form of a joint stock company. Since then, the company's shares have been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the inventions of the civil engineer Arthur Porr led to a major breakthrough in the field of concreting and secured a leading position in the field of technology for the "Allgemeine Baugesellschaft - A. Porr Aktiengesellschaft", which was formed in 1927 by merging with the Porr company.
